Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson was born on July 10, 1980. [1] She is an American singer, actress and charity worker. Simpson was signed to Columbia Records at the age of seventeen after she had been a member of the church choir as a young girl. Sweet Kisses, her first album as a studio artist, came out in 1999. It was a huge success, selling two million copies in the United States. She also was a commercial hit with her hit single "I Want to Love You Forever". Simpson's previous career was characterized by her marriage to Nick Lachey. She was also on MTV's reality television series Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica in 2003 and in 2005. After the release of her first Christmas album ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004), which was certified gold, Simpson made her film debut as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). The singer also performed an original cover of "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" to be used in the soundtrack to the film. The year 2006 saw the release of her fifth studio album A Public Affair. She was also in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. After the release of her sixth studio album Do You Know (2008), Simpson moved into the genre of country music. Simpson started The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005. It was a clothing-focused line featuring 34 categories of products. Simpson also appeared on the reality-TV show The Price of Beauty in 2010 and judged fashion designs for two seasons of Fashion Star between 2012 and 2013.
